Stroke mechanics first:
Use two clubs laid parallel on the green to create a channel and spend a couple of minutes grooving a straight-back, straight-through pendulum motion with a square clubface.
Build distance control step by step:
Place balls at increasing distances from the hole and work through them from short to long — first uphill, then downhill — to develop a feel for how swing length and pace affect how far the ball travels.
Learn to read and play the break:
Find a hole on a slant and practise putts from all four directions, starting at one foot and gradually moving back, to understand how much the ball curves and where to aim your starting line.
