Hannah Green lifted the Karrie Webb Cup at Sanctuary Cove on Sunday, cruising to a four-shot win at the Australian WPGA Championship to seal a remarkable run of form.
A month ago, Hannah Green was mopping up at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore. A fortnight ago, she was weeping into the Women’s Australian Open trophy. And on Sunday, the 29-year-old West Australian stood at the 18th at Sanctuary Cove and hoisted the Karrie Webb Cup — three wins from three starts, and arguably the hottest player in world golf right now.”It feels really amazing,” Green said. “It’s been a really crazy month. It’s been really special to be able to do that in Australia.”Her winning total of 16-under par — rounds of 65, 67, 67 and 69 — left the field four shots adrift and showed a level of consistency that belies how hard it is to back up a major tournament win, let alone two in succession on home soil.
Försterling turns the screw — then fades
For a spell on Sunday morning, it looked as though Alexandra Försterling might spoil the party. The four-time LET winner went out in 33 shots, picking up four birdies in six holes to reach 13-under and cut Green’s overnight lead in half.
But the German couldn’t sustain the pressure on the back nine. Bogeys at the 13th and 15th handed Green her breathing room back, and Försterling ultimately finished the week in a share of second on 12-under — a respectable result, but never close enough to seriously threaten.
Alexander’s Sunday rollercoaster
If Försterling’s challenge came and went quietly, Casandra Alexander’s final round was anything but. The American mixed three birdies, three bogeys, an eagle and a double-bogey in a wild Sunday showing that still left her in a tie for second on 12-under par — and a remarkable leap up the LET Order of Merit.
It was a round that summed up Alexander’s week: dangerous enough to challenge but too inconsistent to win. She’ll take second place regardless — it’s her best LET result of the season and lifts her to the top of the money list.

Green steadies, then seals it in style
Green’s own Sunday was far from flawless. Three birdies in a row at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th were quickly negated by back-to-back bogeys at the 5th and 6th — an unusually ragged stretch for a player in such dominant form. But she steadied, birdied the 9th, and once Försterling started dropping shots behind her, the destination of the trophy was never really in doubt.
The one-time major champion — her AIG Women’s British Open title arrived in 2019 — made it to the 18th green in two, rolled in a two-putt birdie, and was promptly drenched in champagne by Su Oh, Amelia Garvey and Steph Kyriacou.
“I think when I knew that I was going to win was when I actually hit it on the green on 18,” Green admitted. “I tried to just imagine that we still had more holes to play — just so that I wasn’t fluffing around it.”
