About the trip
Women & Golf are delighted to announce that we will be visiting the Costa del Sol, Spain as part of our 2022 roster of events.
The 4-night trip includes a dinner, bed & breakfast package and three rounds of organised golf on some great courses including Finca Cortesin the world-renowned golfing destination and venue for the 2023 Solheim Cup.
There will also be the opportunity to play one of the oldest courses on the Costa del Sol, Atalaya - Old Course and one of the most established - El Paraiso.
As with all our golf days, we expect a great deal of chat and merriment. We have some fun challenges planned with a chance to play our own Solheim Showdown.

Where are we playing?
FINCA CORTESIN GOLF COURSE
This stunning course will provide a fitting venue for the 2023 Solheim Cup, being rated as one of the finest in Europe. Set high above the spectacular Costa del Sol coastline, Finca winds its way through a beautiful natural landscape of Mediterranean oaks. Its impeccably manicured Bermuda grass fairways are punctuated with over 100 bunkers, but the course’s clever design means it provides an enjoyable challenge to low and high handicap golfers alike.
A complimentary shared buggy is included.
EL PARAISO GOLF COURSE
Designed by South African legend, Gary Player, this excellent par-71 parkland course sits within the beautiful El Paraiso valley with stunning views of ‘La Concha’ mountain to the north and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Its generous fairways are flanked by palm trees and there are a number of water hazards to negotiate, offering an enjoyable challenge for all levels of golfer.

ATALAYA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB - OLD COURSE
First opened in 1968, Atalaya´s Old Course is one of the finest courses on the Costa del Sol. The wide generous fairways undulate gently between mature trees and flowering shrubs providing shade and all year colour. The frequently elevated greens can make club selection interesting and their subtle contours need careful judgement to sink those all-important putts. Each year Atalaya hosts a number of professional tournaments, whilst always offering a fair test of golf for players of all levels.

Where are we staying?
Set within beautiful sub-tropical gardens, the Sol Marbella Estepona-Atalaya Park lies right on the coast, next to the Atalaya Isdabe Beach between Puerto Banus and Estepona. The hotel has been recently refurbished, and offers an excellent range of facilities including a wonderful outdoor pool surrounded by spacious sun terraces. This warm and friendly hotel will provide an excellent base for our group, with the lively Lobby Bar being the perfect spot for our post-round socialising, with its spectacular views out to Mediterranean and Gibraltar.

Frequently Asked Questions
Transfer Time
The transfer time from Malaga Airport to Sol Marbella Estepona-Atalaya Park is approximately 45 minutes, depending on weather and traffic.

What to Wear
Golf attire during the day. We suggest smart casual for the evenings.
Gratuities
The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated).
Carriage of Clubs
We suggest you use a light golf bag when packing your clubs. Wrap a towel round the neck of the clubs to protect them and stop them rattling around whilst in transit. It is also important to then place the bag and clubs in an outer carrying bag, which can be purchased from any good golf shop.
Handicap Requirements
This trip is for female golfers with a handicap index of 36.0 or lower.
Golf Club Insurance
You will most probably find that your golf clubs are covered on your household insurance policy. Most policies cover a single item such as golf clubs for a period out of the country. However, if you need insurance cover speak to our partners Golf Plan UK who can help. W&G members are entitled to 20% discount.
Golf Club, Trolley, Buggy Hire
Most golf clubs have these items available for hire, however this is not always the case, so clients would be advised to check with us beforehand if they have any specific requirements.
- Buggy Hire: Varies between 35€ - 40€ for courses we have chosen (pre booking is advisable. Payable locally)
- Electric Trolley Hire : varies between 13.5€ - 15€ for courses we have chosen (pre booking is advisable. Payable locally)

Passport & Visas
A full 10-year passport is required, valid for 6 months beyond the intended length of stay.
A visa is not required by holders of passports endorsed “British Citizen” for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

Entry requirements
Currently (subject to change), the Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK to present on entry a Health Control Form AND one of the following: a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination.
