A review of our Women & Golf event on 17 August 2022 at Ramside Hall Hotel Golf Spa

After a fabulous trip to Spain in April, Norwich in May and Surrey in June, we found ourselves in Durham in August at Ramside Hall Hotel Golf Spa for our Women & Golf event.

This was our first Women & Golf trip to the North East and it did not disappoint. Ramside Hall boasts two courses - Prince Bishops's and Cathedral. We opted for the more established course - Prince Bishops's - which was opened in 1996 and is a challenging par 74 courses designed by Jonathan Gaunt.

The facilities at Ramside Hall compliment a golf trip perfectly. A wide choice of accommodation for pairs, fourballs or a group; extensive on-site dining facilities and a state of the art spa mean you never need to leave for the duration of your trip.

The separate golf Clubhouse includes a Pro Shop, driving range with recently installed TOPTRACER in every bay, a large putting green, practice bunkers and short game area plus changing facilities.

In addition to hosting Women & Golf in 2022, Ramside Hall recently hosted their first professional women’s event, part of the LET Access Series, on the Cathedral course.

Our day at Ramside Hall

The welcome rain that had arrived the day before the event, was nowhere to be seen on arrival, and blue skies appeared. Although there was a cold wind, as the day progressed the sun shone - a perfect day for golf.

It was great to welcome some new faces and say hello to players who were attending their first Women & Golf event. The group was very much locally based, with players from Durham and Northumberland. One player, a long-standing member who played in our events when based in Surrey, was delighted to see us host an event for Northern-based followers of Women & Golf.

The players enjoyed a hearty breakfast of bacon rolls and danish pastries in the traditional Clubhouse bar.

Lunch was later served in the Members Lounge close by.

It was then off for a quick practice at the driving range or putting green.

Photocall

No Women & Golf event would be the same without a photo call. A beautiful sweeping and dogleg fairway greeted the players on the 1st tee. Plus, sunshine and blue skies!

A little Slingsby sparkle at the Halfway House

Players enjoyed a reviving Slingsby Solo Mixed Flavour G&T at the 9th tee to give them a boost for the last 9 holes. Cheers to our friends at Slingsby.
