LUMINE Mediterránea Beach & Golf Community in Tarragona, Spain has been named recipient of one of the first ever International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) Sustainability Awards.
The awards, recognising environmental and social excellence, featured as part of the spectacular gala dinner dénouement at the recent 16th annual International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), hosted by the Costa Daurada and LUMINE Mediterránea Beach & Golf Community.

Born out of IAGTO’s new partnership with the Golf Environment Organisation, the inaugural awards also recognised LUMINE Golf & Beach Club’s impressive 34% reduction of the total irrigated area and a plan to extend diversification into renewable energy, demonstrating a commitment to resource management.
The Troon managed venue, received the accolade for the first Audubon International Gold Signature Sanctuary Certificate in Spain, and was recognised as an environmentally sustainable model for responsible management of water. The award winning resort was in the spotlight all week as a co-host to the hugely successful 16th IGTM.
