Time is running out for avid young golfers to secure their places in the sixth Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship (OWKG), taking place at the Algarve’s Amendoeira Golf Resort from 21-25 July.

Entries for the Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship 21-25 July, which have already been received from across the globe, close on 10 July.

For five days, the stars of the future will descend on the celebrated Algarve resort to compete over the distinguished Oceânico Faldo Course and O’Connor Jnr course, before the winners are crowned by Portugal’s national golfing hero, Ricardo Santos.  Youngsters will also have the chance to pick up World Amateur Golf Ranking points in the under 14, 16 & 18 categories.

Welcoming the whole family on site to create a memorable holiday around the unique championship, the event affords numerous opportunities for parents to get involved with a pre-tournament Par-3 parent & child challenge around the Amendoeira Golf Resort Academy Course kicking off proceedings.

This championship is part of a series of important events on the Oceânico 2014 calendar, including the European Tour’s Portugal Masters and the Grande Troféu Vilamoura – a season-ending event for keen amateur golfers - which demonstrates the group’s dedication to golf at all levels of the game.

With the backing of the Portuguese Golf Federation and R&A, the OWKG playing a significant role in developing grass roots golf by providing a high standard of competition for the next generation for golfing enthusiasts. Entry fees range between €110-240 depending on the age the child.
