Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel, one of the UK’s most playable winter golf destinations, has launched a series of ‘group-friendly’ winter breaks.

The new winter golf packages start from £95 per person, per night, including dinner, bed and breakfast and unlimited golf.

Groups of 12 golfers or more booking for a minimum one night stay now receive £100 credit to spend in the Thorpeness Professional’s shop, providing an opportunity to buy prizes from leading brands such as FootJoy, Oscar Jacobsen and Chervo.

The James Braid designed heathland course on the Suffolk Heritage Coast is known for staying dry and playable all year round and has closed less than five times in the past decade due to bad weather.

Brad McLean, general manager at Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel, said: “Thorpeness is blessed with a rare micro-climate that delivers unusually mild weather and means our course stays in excellent condition throughout the Winter months.”

Thorpeness is located on Suffolk’s Heritage Coast and the area’s micro-climate means it has one of the lowest average rainfall rates nationally and around three hours more sunshine per week than the rest of the UK.

Ian Willett, Head Greenkeeper at Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel, said: “Thorpeness is a classic heathland course and it runs through a low-lying coastal plain. The soil is sandy and fast draining which means the fairways and greens stay firm and fast virtually all year round.”

A one night winter golf break (dinner, B&B, and unlimited golf) is £95 and two night packages (D/B&B, unlimited golf) are £179.
