The golf course
Designed by the famous Hawtree and Son partnership, Golf de St Samson (6280 yds, par 71) is a joy to play as it twists and turns alternately through the beautiful landscape of pine forest and moorland. Ideal for the mid handicap player, the 18 holes are very varied, gently testing with many natural hazards making it a challenge but not overly demanding.
The hotel
The Golfhotel, with the links of the Golf de St Samson right on the doorstep, offers comfortable accommodation in low-rise modern buildings and panoramic views of the Pink Granite Coast. Facilities include a swimming pool, tennis courts, an excellent restaurant serving local cuisine and a lively bar overlooking the countryside with distant views of the sea. The poolside bar and café is an informal place to meet and have a refreshing drink and snack after a pleasant day's golf.
The resort
The nearby popular seaside town of Trégastel has lovely, white sandy beaches and a bustling harbour packed with wonderful restaurants, crêperies and bars. For a break from the golf course there are many other sports to choose from in the area including riding, sailing, fishing, canoeing, cycling and wind surfing. Then there are more relaxing pursuits such as a boat trip out to the bird sanctuary of Sept Iles from Perros Guirec or leisurely walks along one of the many coastal paths.
