Golfers travelling to the sun-soaked courses of the Algarve can have their golf bags transported for free, saving up to 100 euros.

If you're anything like us, you'll already be dreaming of the golf holidays you're going to take when the world opens back up again.

Well, the Algarve region of Portugal is encouraging us to book a future trip to the area's sun-soaked courses by launching a fabulous new offer.

The “Golf Clubs Are On Us” scheme basically does exactly what it says on the tin.

The Algarve is covering the cost of flying your clubs over to Faro with you, leaving you with more money to spend on post-round cocktails (or whatever your weakness is).

The free golf bag offer can be applied to bookings made with a licensed golf tour operator for stays of a minimum of five-nights between November 2020 and the end of April 2021.

The only catch is that you need to book by December 31, 2020.

As the Portugese region is home to 43 nine and 18-hole courses, year-round warm weather and miles of beautiful coastline, it certainly seems like a tempting offer.

At the moment, UK travellers have to quarantine for 14 days on return from Portugal.

But, as the rules changing all the time, we thought this deal was definitely worth keeping in mind for when Portugal is added back onto the UK's travel corridor.

The deal is also available for those travelling from Ireland, Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and The Netherlands, as long as you are staying at an officially-licensed hotel, villa or apartment.

A spokesperson for Algarve Tourism said: “We know our friends across Europe see their opportunities to play golf a little more limited in the autumn and winter months, but in the Algarve, we are open all year round.

“We all know it’s been a difficult time for everyone with so many travel plans postponed or cancelled this year. But we hope this gesture will be appreciated and may allow some more of our guests to rearrange their visit to our golf courses during the next few months.”
