Women & Golf is going on tour this month, taking a round the world trip in our exclusive traveller supplement to discover the best golf destination exclusively with the female golfer in mind.
There are so many wonderful golf destinations around the world, and everyone’s taste is different, but here are a few places that stir up happy memories for W&G’s editor Alison Root:
I love the chic Italian lifestyle and have so many happy memories of enjoying rounds of golf followed by amazing meals that seem to last forever. They certainly help you to forget a bad round, along with a few glasses of prosecco of course!
For a resort-based holiday, it’s La Manga Club in southern Spain that has a special place in my heart. In the early 1990s this was the venue for my first girls’ golf holiday and it then became a spiritual home in a previous working life.
The resort’s greatest asset is that you can walk from your hotel room straight to the 1st tee of two of the resort’s three courses.
I can also vouch for the apartments at Las Lomas Village, as this alternative accommodation is ideal for groups, and a shuttle bus services several good restaurants and bars within the vicinity of the hotel and Las Lomas.
With an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, spa, tennis courts, a beach nearby, plus year round sunshine, it’s so easy to relax and enjoy a hassle-free holiday at this all-round resort.
