England's most promising girls from the England Golf U16 and U18 regional squads, have been invited to challenge WPGA professionals in the popular One Day Series to gain tournament experience.
The amateurs made an impressive debut in last year’s Series. Megan Clarke (Cleckheaton & District, Image © Leaderboard Photography) and Charlotte West (Harewood Downs) both won events while Bel Wardle (Prestbury), Cloe Frankish (Chart Hills) and Aimee Wilson (Little Aston) were all runners-up.
Rebecca Wood, the England Golf performance manager for women’s golf, commented: “England Golf is very grateful to the WPGA for opening up spaces at these events and supporting our regional programme. The experience is invaluable and gives the girls a great opportunity to compete and to see at first-hand how the professional players approach the game.”
The 2015 series of seven day events will run from May to August and will take place at Little Aston on 11 May, Dunham Forest on 27 May, Salisbury & South Wilts on 16 June, Kedleston Park on 29 June, Torquay on 9 July, Chestfield on 17 July and South Herts on 19 August.
Entry will be for up to ten players per event with a maximum handicap requirement of four.
