The Tee Cup Series Winners

We concluded our 2018 Tee Cup Series at Lindrick Golf Club on Monday in the only way we saw fit to end a successful series of events - with a glass of bubbly!

Our Tee Cup Series events give ladies the opportunity to get together and play new golf courses, make new friends, and bag themselves some goodies along the way- no matter how well they play on the day.

The final of this year's series was held at Lindrick Golf Club earlier this week, host to the 1957 Ryder Cup and home club to European Tour Players Lee Westwood, Danny Willett and Matt Fitzpatrick. Whilst our golf might not quite have been up to their standards, we certainly made up for that in the amount of fun we had.

With the weather pleasantly surprising us all for an October morning, the day started with tea and coffee and an introduction by Di Horsely, the Chairman of the England Golf Trust. Di discussed the work of the trust and shared some truly inspiring testimonials from the youngsters who are helped by the Golf Trust's hard work.

Armed with their goodie bags of items from Callaway, Surprizeshop, Primal Pantry and Munchy Seeds, the ladies, took to the golf course in an individual stabelford and betterball team competition. Our Editor, Alison Root, joined each team on one of the par-3's - a monster of a hole at 167 yards with bunkers guarding the green - to try and help contribute to each team’s overall score.

In the individual competition, there were three ladies tied on 32 points but Sandie Normanton won on countback after the best back nine with 17 points. The runner-up was Lindy Clemmow. Lindy was also a member of the winning team and won nearest the pin. The Longest Drive was won by another member of the winning team, Jackie Francis.

Paula Offer, Cindy McIntyre, Lindy Clemmow and Jackie Francis took the team prize with a total of 80 points.

The evening ended with a glass of Prosecco in the Ryder Cup Room at the club, followed by a two-course dinner. The chocolate brownie with ice-cream and Eton mess went down particularly well!

As a final gift and a thank you for supporting the Women & Golf Tee Cup Series this year, each player was also given a bottle of Prosecco to take home with them.

We had a great day at Lindrick Golf Club and would like to thank their fantastic staff, it was a wonderful golf course to end our Tee Cup Series. Special thanks too to all of our sponsors Callaway, Surprizeshop, Primal Pantry and Munchy Seeds.
