Rory McIlroy is raving about the results of his recent Lasik eye surgery and now has his sights firmly set on his best ever season in 2016.

The current No. 3 world ranked golfer who underwent the surgery in early December has told The Guardian that his vision is now better than 20/20.

“Now it is amazing, it really is. I had it done and the morning after it felt a bit gritty and stuff, which they said it would. I have been on drops for the last couple of weeks. But I had to go pretty quickly for a routine check-up and when I went there it was better than 20-20 vision already,” McIlroy told The Guardian.

The 26-year-old has been wearing contact lenses since getting glasses when he was 10. Time will tell if the procedure has a major effect on the four-time major winner, but it probably won't hurt his putting, which was notable poor last year.

Tiger Woods famously had LASIK surgery in October 1999 before going on to win the Disney Classic in his first start since surgery later that month.
