I was in an-all female fourball (one of whom is a pro) in a round which took almost 5 hours. No it wasn’t our fault, but a threeball of pretty poor male golfers in front of us who didn’t have the sense to let us through until the course marshal intervened on the 11th hole and only then did the fourball in front speed up when they realised we had been let through.
They then had the cheek to say in the bar “Oh sorry, if we were holding you up” - I did not say “Oh don’t worry” - my reply was nowhere near that polite.
At one point I resorted to showing the girls my latest dance moves in order to pass the time while we were waiting - now that was “strictly” not for the golf course!
