Most of us have to wait what seems a lifetime before we can add an ace to our golfing CV. Not for Becky Marsh, who scored a hole-in-one after a mere ten balls.

It took eighteen years for lady professional Emma Brown to persuade her best friend Becky Marsh to pick up a golf club. It took a mere ten golf balls for Marsh to achieve Brown’s yet to be accomplished ambition of scoring a hole-in-one.

Rocking up on the academy course at The Kendleshire, near Bristol, where the English golfer has recently taken over as professional, the girls planned to have a giggle but got the shock of a lifetime when Marsh proceeded to knock the ball straight into the hole, in spite of never having before picked up a golf club.

Despite becoming an overnight sensation when the video soon went viral, Marsh, who works at a stud farm in Gloucestershire, has come in from some damning comments, with viewers saying that the 55-yard shot was nothing more than a chip or that the video was faked altogether.

The sheer joy on the ladies’ faces attests to the validity of the ace and whilst it’s certainly not the 12th at Augusta, with most of us struggling to hit the ball on our first lesson, let alone sink it straight in the hole, few can fail to appreciate this moment of magic.

Nonetheless the comments haven’t dampened the mood of the duo who’ve been celebrating the incredible accomplishment since.

Despite being perhaps the luckiest women in golf, Marsh has no intention of taking up the game any time soon, with the girls next planning to turn their hand to clay pigeon shooting. After all, when you peak after ten golf balls, there’s not much left in the game to achieve!
