A survey by Golf Care in the run up to the Masters has revealed some interesting statistics, including that women are twice as likely to cheer for Sergio Garcia.

Over 4,000 British golfers helped reveal the nation's habits and behaviours during The Masters. As well as a female preference for Sergio Garcia, there were several other gender differences, including a higher percentage of men prepared to stay up late to watch the close of play.

When asked for their favourite Masters moment, 82% of female golfers said they prefered Danny Willet winning The Masters last year compared to 54% of male golfers who prefered the Tiger Woods’ chip on the 16th.

Other findings included:

Sky Sports is the most popular choice for watching The Masters with 59% of fans tuning in compared to just 29% watching highlights on the BBC.

Nearly three quarters of golfers (73%) would rather win The Open than The Masters if they were a professional golfer.
