Coldplay and Stevie Wonder are reported to be performing at the ceremony, which will take place at the medieval Ashford Castle, in Ireland. Chris Martin is said to be among a star-studded guest list, which includes One Direction star Niall Horan, although the wedding details are being kept closely under wraps.
The 27-year-old famously met fiancé Erica Stoll at the 2012 Ryder Cup, where she was working for the PGA of America, after saving the Irishman from missing his tee time on the final day.
The glittering venue is a favourite spot for the pair, who have spent the past two New Year Eve's at the secluded destination, which was last year voted the No. 1 resort in Great Britain and Ireland by Travel and Leisure magazine.
McIlroy was previously engaged to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki but abruptly ended the engagement in May 2014.
