Charlotte Thompson has revealed she is expecting her first child with fiancé David Laffar.

Charlotte Thompson has started the year by sharing some lovely news on social media

The Ladies European Tour player revealed she is expecting her first child with her fiancé David Laffer, and we couldn't be more happy for her.

Charlotte broke the news by posting a cute photo on Instagram of a family of golf bags.

Labelled 'Mummy's clubs', 'Daddy's clubs' and 'Baby Laffer's clubs' it even featured a tiny baby set of golf clubs and a snap of her ultrasound scan.

She captioned it:

@david.laffar and I are extremely excited to announce we are expecting our first child in May 2021. Currently feeling very excited, grateful & lucky to be this little bundles mummy.

Her good news was met with loads of supportive messages, including some from her fellow Tour players.

Inci Mehmet said: "So much love for the two of you, congrats!"

Meanwhile, Annabel Dimmock, the LET themselves and Sky Sports presenter Iona Stephens also passed on their congratulations.

David proposed to the 28-year-old Essex golfer last Spring just before the first lockdown. As well as her partner, he's also her golf coach and clearly the arrangement has worked well for the pair.

In 2020 Charlotte finished T6 at the Lacoste Ladies Open and T7 at the Saudi Ladies Team International, where she played in the same team as England's Annabel Dimmock.

Speaking to W&G last year, Charlotte said: “When we’re in the zone where he’s the coach and I’m the player, he's the first person to tell me off if I’m not working hard enough. But then outside of that we’re back to being fiancé and fiancé."

Congratulations Charlotte and David and thank you for brightening up these dark times with your lovely news.

With such talented parents, we're sure the new arrival will be such a super golfer too!
