Cardigan member Lyn Scott didn't let the sleet and wind stop her from celebrating her 90th Birthday on the course.

Cardigan Golf Club, which became one of the first golf clubs in Wales to sign the R&A's Women in Golf charter in 2019, celebrated a very special Birthday for one of its female members back in December.

Proving that age is just a number and that golf really is a sport that can be played at any age, Cardigan member Lyn Scott marked her milestone 90th Birthday by playing a few holes of golf.

Through the wind and sleet

What's more impressive still is that she played through sleet and heavy winds, with the cliff top links providing no shelter from the typical Welsh December weather.

Joined by two other golfing pals, Lyn played four holes before returning to the clubhouse for a much warmer socially-distanced celebration.

A member of the club for 25 years, Lyn was said to be 'determined' to mark her special day by playing golf.

What a brilliant inspiration she is and we love the champagne bottle balloon!

Needless to say we can only hope that we are still playing at 90 too.

Cardigan Golf Club

Cardigan is situated high above Cardigan Bay and offers spectacular views of the sea from every hole. Over 125 years old, it was named Welsh Junior Golf Club of the Year in 2018.
