Lee Westwood took time out of his busy Tour schedule to officially re-open the golf shop at Gainsborough Golf Club.
The Worksop-born PING Staff Player visited the PING-owned Lincolnshire club before the BMW PGA Championship and at the end of a fine run in which he had finished in seventh place at The Masters, won the Maybank Malaysian Open and then claimed a share of sixth place at the subsequent Players Championship at the TPC of Sawgrass.
The golf shop at Gainsborough has recently been given an extensive refit and will now be the only store in the country to showcase every item in PING’s hardware, clothing and accessory ranges. It complements the popular PING European Fitting Centre located on the range at the club.
“We set out to create a modern facility which showcases everything PING does in the best possible light and we believe we have achieved that aim,” said General Manager, Martin Robinson. “All the designs and fittings were created internally and are bespoke to the PING brand. There’s something for everyone who wants the latest PING product and initial customer reaction has been very positive indeed.”
The revamped shop at Gainsborough Golf Club is open seven days a week from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm on Monday to Friday and from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm at the weekends.
