Stacy Lewis won the 2020 Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open in what was a thrilling final day at The Renaissance Club.

Today's final round (August 16) finished with Stacy, fellow American Cheyenne Knight, Spain’s Azahara Muñoz and Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen all tied at five under.

The meant there was only one thing for it...

A four-way playoff.

We mean, how often does that happen?

But it didn’t last long as Stacy rolled in a birdie putt from 24 feet on the 1st hole.

This latest victory is the star's first since she became a mum, and the 13th of her career, the last being at the 2017 Cambia Portland Classic.

As big Swifty fans ourselves, we love that Stacy admitted to singing Taylor Swift’s single Shake it off (a favourite song of her daughter Chesnee), throughout the day to help keep her calm.

We might have to try this trip next time we're faced with an important putt...

Speaking of that all-important playoff hole, Stacy said:

“I hit a good approach shot into 18 in regulation and the shot in the play-off was exactly ten yards further, so it was 8-iron, same shot and fortunately I got it started more left this time and I got it on the top shelf.”

“Travis and I had been reading putts together all day and I had the line there. It was five inches outside left. I knew I needed to get it there with enough speed and finally, after the whole back nine, I got one to go in and that was all I needed.”

It was a real battle out there on the links, with as many as five players leading at some stage during the round.

Several British players played exceptionally well too, including Scotland’s Kylie Henry at T12 and England’s Eleanor Givens at T33.

Eleanor made history by becoming the first woman to win on the 2020protour, and now she’s jumped a huge 60 positions in the LET’s Race to Costa del Sol to 51st in the rankings.

This was the first event back on the LET since March and the first time women's professional golf had played in Scotland since the Solheim Cup 2019.

It was a brilliant tournament for so many stars on both the LET and LPGA, and things are about to heat up even more...
