After starting the day three shots ahead at the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship, Sei Young Kim found herself in a three-way tie at the top on Sunday alongside Bronte Law and Jeongeun Lee6.

Kim’s final round got off to a rough start, with a double bogey and two bogeys before the 8th. The South Korean regained some control with a birdie at 15 but lost the lead again with a bogey at the par-3 17th. With a final push, Kim birdied the last to take a share of the lead at 7-under par and claim her spot in the playoff.

On an equally cold and windy Lake Merced, the day’s play was a different story for England’s Bronte Law and fellow South Korean Lee6. Carding five birdies and an eagle, Law signed for a flawless round of 65 whilst Lee6 shot 67.

Play-offs are where Kim really comes into her own though, and the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship was no exception. Taking a close-to-perfect regulation route back down the 18th, Kim only needed one play-off hole to sign for her eighth LPGA Tour title. Law pitched her third shot into 6ft but missed her birdie putt to the right. Lee6 reached the green with her approach but left herself a 40-foot putt for eagle. She hit that 6ft past the hole and missed the one coming back, leaving Kim to tap in her short birdie putt to seal the deal.
