Yes, yes and YES.

We told you that Mel Reid was one to watch going into Round 2 of the Cambia Portland Classic, and we absolutely LOVE it when we're right. Especially about something as good as this #sorrynotsorry.

Yesterday (September 19) was always going to be a special day for the Derby-born star.

Marking her 33rd Birthday in style she shot a 7-under 65 to take a two-stroke lead over defending champion Hannah Green into the final round of the Cambria Portland Classic.

Who says the fun stops in your 30s?

Reduced to 54 holes because of poor air quality caused by wildfires, we knew she was on a mission after she shot four birdies in a row on the front nine. She then added another on the 11th and closed her bogey-free afternoon round at Columbia Edgewater with a birdie on the par-4 18th.

Mel is yet to win on the LPGA and we have everything crossed for her when we goes out today.

Speaking after her round yesterday she said:

“I put myself in a great position, a position that everyone wants to be in, so I’m excited for the opportunity tomorrow.

"I'll just keep doing the same thing and see where tomorrow afternoon takes us.”

This competition follows straight on from the ANA Inspiration where she finished T7.

“I felt like I hit it really good last week, so kind of took that momentum going into this week. I think it did me a favor having an extra day off. I was pretty tired from last week.”

Of course, the only down side is that she had to postpone her Birthday party.

“Celebrations for my Birthday will start tomorrow (September 20) no matter what," she said.

“I’ve got to be well behaved tonight and I was well behaved last night, which is shocking to many people.”

We could not love her more. We'll be celebrating with you Mel!

Georgia Hall also had a great day and at -8 she's T5 going into the final round. We're backing here to the end too.
