Lydia Ko’s move to Parsons Xtreme Golf has been made official, with the World No. 1 joining a host of other LPGA stars who have signed up to play with the American-manufacturer this season.
The former Callaway player’s decision to switch her equipment manufacturer appears to be part of a larger overhaul of her game, with the New Zealander sacking her long-term caddie Jason Hamilton with just two tournaments left in the 2016 season and subsequently parting ways with renowned swing coach David Leadbetter.
The two-time major winner won five times in 2016 but struggled for form in the last part of the season, eventually losing out to Ariya Jutanugarn in the race to be crowned LPGA Player of the Year.
U.S. Women's Open winner Brittany Lang, Christina Kim and Ryann O’Toole have also signed deals to play with PXG, which is owned by Bob Parsons, the billionaire founder of GoDaddy.
In a rare move, the company had early announced that they will be signing only LPGA talent for 2017, citing a bid to look at the game from a more global perspective.
Cristie Kerr, Alison Lee, Sadena Parks, Gerina Piller and Beatriz Recari are already under contract with PXG.
