American Lexi Thompson has announced that she will play in the Franklin Templeton Shootout this December, the first women to play in the event since Annika Sorenstam did so in 2006.
The World no. 4 will be paired with fellow Cobra Puma star Bryson DeChambeau in the unofficial team event, which gets underway in Naples, Florida, on December 4.
Joining Thompson in the 24-person field will be some of the biggest names from the PGA Tour, including Matt Kuchar, Justin Thomas and Brandt Snedeker.
This will be Lexi Thompson’s first appearance in a men’s event, having reportedly turned down numerous sponsor’s exemptions to play on the PGA Tour.
