Dame Laura Davies fired a bogey-free 69 to easily make the cut for the weekend at the LPGA Drive On Championship.

Laura Davies is clearly showing no signs of slowly down.

The 57 years' old really stole the show in Florida yesterday, where only nine of the 120-player field broke 70.

Playing in tricky conditions and competing against the best of the best on the LPGA (many of whom are less than half her age), Laura had a blast, and she credited her new clubs for her exceptional form.

"I hit a couple of dodgy tee shots, but on the whole my irons were good. It's all new for me at the moment because I've just signed with Callaway, so it's all new clubs," she said, speaking to reporters after her round.

"But the guys in the trailer have set me up with what seems to be the perfect set now. So it's down to me to play well. I can't blame the equipment!"

Carlota Ciganda 'loved' playing with Dame Laura

Solheim Cup star Carlota shot the low round of the day with a 65, and she is currently in third position and chasing the leaders as the tournament continues.

As well as being thrilled with her fantastic score, she also revealed in her post-round interviews that she adored playing with the Golf Hall of Fame legend.

"I love playing with Laura," she said.

"I think she's amazing to play with. I think her talent is unbelievable, like everything she does with her different shots. She's very creative, uses lots of imagination.

"I always enjoyed that. I think she can hit shots that no one here can hit, so I have a lot of respect for her. I think she's just so good for golf, it's so good for the Tour to see her playing so well, making cuts.

"I love how quick she is. She just goes, she doesn't think, she just hits it, finds it, and then hits it again. I love how she plays, it's just pure talent."

Laura, Mel Reid and Charley Hull are all on level par going into round three, while Bronte Law leads the English hopes with one under.
