Almost at the end of what had already been an unforgettable third round with four bogeys and a double in tough and windy conditions, Kaufman's bunker shot bounded from the stick, straight into the hole. The American will start Sunday's round with a two-shot lead at 10-under, just ahead of Celine Boutier from France and Australian Su Oh.
The home nations have made their way impressively up the leaderboard: England's Jodi Ewart Shadoff joins day one leader and fellow compatriot Felicity Johnson in a tie for 5th at 4-under and Kylie Henry from Scotland is currently tied 9th at 3-under alongside England's Charlotte Thomas.
Catriona Matthew, Georgia Hall and Holly Clyburn all narrowly missed the cut by just one shot.
