Sixteen Irish golfers—seven pros and nine amateurs—set to tee off at Carton House
The 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open is shaping up to be a landmark for Irish golf, with a record number of local players preparing to compete. Sixteen Irish women—spanning seasoned professionals and emerging amateurs—will take on some of the sport’s biggest international names at Carton House, County Kildare, from July 3–6.
Irish Talent Takes Center Stage
This year's field includes seven professional Irish golfers, led by LPGA standout Leona Maguire and fellow tour professional Olivia Mehaffey. They’ll be joined by Sara Byrne, Lauren Walsh, Annabel Wilson, Anna Foster, and Canice Screene—players who have all made their mark representing Ireland at elite levels.
The amateur roster also reflects the country’s growing depth of talent. Competing alongside the pros will be Beth Coulter, Aine Donegan, Olivia Costello, Anna Dawson, Emma Fleming, Rebekah Gardner, Roisin Scanlon, Anna Abom, and Marina Joyce Moreno.
“This is a defining moment for Irish women’s golf,” said Tournament Director Simon Honan. “To have 16 Irish players in the field is not only a record, but a reflection of the talent pipeline that’s emerging.”
Going Head-to-Head with Global Stars
The Irish players will face stiff competition from an impressive international field, including England’s Charley Hull and Georgia Hall, as well as Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist and Madelene Sagström—all former Solheim Cup players with major championship credentials.
Ryan McCarthy, Managing Partner at KPMG Ireland, noted the importance of the Irish representation: “This truly embodies KPMG’s 'Inspiring the Future' ethos, showcasing the depth of talent and providing invaluable role models for young people across the country.”
More Than a Tournament
Set against the scenic backdrop of Carton House, the tournament will offer more than just elite-level golf. Junior clinics and fan-focused activities are planned throughout the week, making it a family-friendly celebration of the sport.
KPMG’s support for the event—and for women’s golf more broadly—includes backing initiatives like the Irish Kids Golf Tour, helping to foster a lasting legacy for the next generation of players.
