Just four days after making a historic albatross in the Bahamas, Ha Na Jang is making headlines yet again.

Jang carded a bogey-free, 7-under par, 65 to take a 3-stroke lead in the opening round of the Coates Golf Championship Presented By R+L Carriers. Ranked No.14 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, Jang leads a a group of six players tied for second at 4-under par, including rookie In Gee Chun, Sei Young Kim, Kim Kaufman, Candie Kung, Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Kelly Tan.

This week’s venue Golden Ocala is a favorite of Jang’s, who Monday Qualified for this event last year and made the most of the opportunity, posting the first of four runner-up finishes in 2015.

“No.7 is a very lucky number, so I feel very comfortable today because last year I had a second-place finish, so I really have more confidence on this golf course,” Jang told LPGA.com after her round.

“I like it’s an old golf course, and just thinking like on the fairway and the greens, there’s no problem because the weather is perfect and then everything is really good today, yeah.”

What did Jang do after her albatross on a par-4 last week in the Bahamas: She bought a dog of course.

She already had two dogs, Eagle and Birdie, so she knew she needed a third once she’d holed an albatross.

It's name? Yes you guessed it. Albatross!!

“Last week’s unbelievable shot on Friday, so I got new dog and named it Albatross,” Jang said of her new Pomeranian. “I need one more dog, Hole-in-one!”

World No. 1 Lydia Ko, who finished runner-up here a year ago along with Ha Na Jang, opened her first event of the season with a 3-under-par 69.

Englishwomen Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Charley Hull both made strong starts to the tournament. Shadoff got off to a flying start with two birdies and an eagle in the first five holes. She finished with 68, three shots of the lead. Meanwhile Hull looked set for another strong performance after her top ten performance last week but dropped back after bogeying the 17th and 18th. She finished with 70 to lie T18.
