On the eve of Tiger Wood’s 2017 debut at the Farmers Insurance Open, the former World No. 1 has announced that he has signed with TaylorMade.

The decision comes several months after his former equipment manufacturer Nike decided they were exiting the golf club market.

The 14-time major champion had originally been linked with a move with PXG, but will now join many of the game’s biggest names, including Jason Day, Dustin Johnson and Olympic gold medalist Justin Rose, as a TaylorMade staff player.

The move had looked inevitable after he travelled to his comeback tournament, the Hero World Challenge, with TaylorMade woods in his bag but was only confirmed by both the player and company this morning.

Woods remains under the Nike umbrella for footwear and apparel and announced last month that he had signed a multi-year deal to play Bridgestone golf balls.
