The Jabra Ladies Open, the new key tournament on the LETAS, and also qualifying event for The Evian Championship, has given its verdict.
France's Isabelle Boineau (-7) won the tournament following a play-off with Sweden's Johanna Gustavsson. The two players claim their ticket for The Evian Championship and become part of the highly select line-up for the 5th and final Major of the season which will be held from 14 to 17 September at the Evian Resort Golf Club.
In glorious sunshine from start to finish of the competition, and following 3 intense rounds which saw 120 players, representing 28 nations, competing on the greens in Evian, Isabelle Boineau (aged 28) played her cards right. The French player, who performed superbly on the first round (67) and played solidly in the second (69), remained steady on this final day, carding 70 to take her into a play-off with Johanna Gustavsson. The young Swedish player, who produced a terrific 66 today and a noteworthy eagle on 15, could not match Boineau's birdie on the first hole of the play-off.
Isabelle Boineau, who was delighted at the end of the tournament, joined all of the other players to pay tribute to the quality of the course at the Evian Resort Golf Club further to a new phase of works and transformations during the winter. "Well done to Adrien, the greenkeeper, the greens were great. I made lots of putts (laughter)".
