England’s Mel Reid is on course to earn her card for the LPGA Tour despite firing a three-over par 75 on day three at Final Qualifying School.
The two-time Solheim Cup star started the day in contention after a sensational second round 64, but slipped back down the field with three back-nine bogeys over the Hills Course, at Daytona Beach in Florida. The Ladies European Tour player sits on T- 4 with two rounds left to play, six shots behind Japanese teenage sensation Nasa Hataoka, who at seventeen is the second youngest player in the field.
Edinburgh-based American Beth Allen, who currently leads the LET Order of Merit, also looks set to be among the twenty players to earn their card for 2017 after a third round 68 puts her in T-10, while Icelandic LET rookie Olafia Kristinsdottir sits by herself in 3rd position.
England international and World no. 2 amateur Bronte Law’s LPGA dream is still intact but she will need a strong finish over the final two days to lift her into contention. She lies on T-43 alongside young Irish professional Stephanie Meadow.
