Former World No. 1 Lorena Ochoa, a two time major winner, has announced she is returning to LPGA competition for the first time since 2012 this May.
Former World No. 1 Lorena Ochoa has announced she is returning to LPGA competition for the first time since 2012.
She will make her return at her own tournament, the Lorena Ochoa Match Play, on May 4-7 in Mexico City. Unfortunately the comeback will be short lived, with Ochoa, who was the top-ranked female for 158 consecutive weeks before her retirement, only returning for the one week.
The Mexican surprised the golfing the world in April 2010 when, at the age of 28, she decided to retire to start a family. Since then she has been focusing on her charitable foundation, as well as rearing three children.
Ochoa has thirty professional titles to her name, including two majors, and will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame this September.
