Jodi Ewart Shadoff is eyeing her first major championship victory after carding a five-under-par 66 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in Illinois.
At the halfway stage of the season's second major, the Englishwoman sits one back from South Korean Sei Young Kim and American Danielle Kang, who are tied for the lead at seven-under par.
A fantastic season has seen the 29-year-old rise to World No. 44, and with a good finish this week at Olympia Fields, she will be among the favourites to earn a captain's pick for next month's Solheim Cup.
Shadoff's compatriot, and the highest ranked Brit in the field, Charley Hull, missed the cut, as did World No. 2 Ariya Jutanugarn, who bogeyed the last to miss out by one.
So Yeon Ryu, who rose to the top of the rankings after winning in Arkansas last week, sits a shot behind Ewart, in a chasing pack that includes defending champion Brooke Henderson and Ariya Jutanugarn's sister Moriya.
Lexi Thompson, who controversially missed on winning the first major of the season, following a four-shot penalty, currently sits four off the pace.
