The Scottish favourite is currently just one shot behind the lead going into Round 2 of the Symetra Tour's Mission Inn Resort and Club Championship presented by IOA.

After a super summer that involved winning not once but TWICE on the Rose Ladies Series and a fabulous T6 finish at the LPGA Drive on, Scotland's Gemma Dryburgh is back playing on the Symetra Tour this week.

Going into Round 2 of The Mission Inn Resort and Club Championship presented by IOA, the Scottish star is one stroke behind Finland's Matilda Castren.

The 27 year old found seven birdies during her first round over in Florida yesterday, and she'll no doubt be hoping to overtake Matilda's score of five under today.

She played beautifully, and one of the highlights was this magnificent birdie putt on the 17th...

This is Gemma's first event on the Symetra Tour since 2017 where she made six cuts in ten starts and claimed a season-best tie for thirteen.

Speaking after her first 18 holes, the former football player said it was great to be back.

“It’s been great coming back this week. It's relaxed, it's nice to see some of the girls, so I am enjoying it so far. LPGA Drive On earlier this year was great and it was my best finish on LPGA, so it was special, so it's been yeah pretty good year overall.”

She also credited the efforts of Justin and Kate Rose for helping her return to the LPGA in such great form. Her wins on the innovative series came at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club and Royal St. George’s Golf Club, but she decided not to take part in the final and instead head over to America for the restarted LPGA.

“It’s amazing, just to have a guy like him, with such a high profile behind us, it got us great media coverage,” she reflected.

“We played some amazing courses as well, which meant a lot to us playing. I think they're trying to do something similar next year during like a break in the schedule so it would be nice to play again.”

We wish her the best of luck today and going into the weekend!
