Hot on the heels of the Ryder Cup, the LPGA hosts a team event of its own this weekend - the UL International Crown. Not usually a tournament we hear too much about, the English team of Georgia Hall, Charley Hull, Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Bronte Law could change that this year.

In only the second time that of competing in the UL International Crown, England have already started to upset the odds at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in South Korea.

In the first round, the English quartet took on Australia. Hull and Hall squeezed a half against Minjee Lee and Sarah Jane Smith after winning the final two holes, whilst Law and Ewart Shadoff dominated their match against Katherine Kirk and Su Oh in a 4&3 victory.

The field this weekend consists of 16 teams from the eight top-ranked countries on the Rolex World Rankings; South Korea, US, England, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Sweden and Chinese Taipei.

Over the first three days of competition, each country plays two four-ball matches against the other three in their pool. After that, the two teams with the most points from each pool go into the final day of singles matches, along with one wild-card team. However, in anticipation of inclement weather caused by Typhoon Kong-Rey, Friday's tee times will kick off earlier than scheduled, and the players will head back to the course in the afternoon to play Saturday's matches a day early. England will, therefore, face Chinese Taipei before taking on the home team, South Korea.
