An incredible week for professional women's golf just got even better...

Emily Pederson has won the ECCO Tour Bravo Tours Open, beating a tough field including several European Tour players.

Only nine women took part in the event, including fellow Danes Nanna Koerstz Madsen and Nicole Broch Larsen, but that clearly didn't phase her or prevent her from reaching the top spot.

Emily went into the final round on Wednesday June 10 bogey free and 6 under par, and despite European Tour player Nicolai Højgaard leading for the first five holes of the day, she eventually emerged victorious after taking on Oliver Suhr in the last few holes.

The 24-year-old finished 11 under par, while Nanna also had a brilliant round and tied for third position.

We think the fact that two women finished within the top three spots of a mixed event is definitely worth shouting about.

Speaking after the event to the organisers Emily said:

"It's always fun to win, and I'm glad I've played better this week than I've done in a long time.

"It's been a long time since I've been in a position where I'm playing to win. I should just get used to being a little nervous again, after all that's what we train for."
