Cristie Kerr still hasn't ruled out playing in Texas this week despite suffering rib injuries and bruising in a golf buggy accident.

Last week, Cristie Kerr was forced to withdraw from the VOA Classic after being involved in a golf buggy accident with her caddy.

After it was confirmed that veteran LPGA star had suffered "multiple serious injuries", it looked unlikely that she would be well enough to compete in the U.S. Women's Open (USWO) in Texas this week.

But we're pleased to report that two-time major winner Cristie is in Houston and that she hasn't ruled out competing yet.

Cristie's husband, Erik Stevens, told Golfweek that she is "recovering from knee, arm and hand contusions as well as more serious rib injuries".

Ouch.

The mother of two said she is "taking it day by day" about whether or not she will be teeing it up at the Champions Golf Club on Thursday.

Speaking on social media she said: "I am doing everything possible to play. where there is a will, there's a way. But I have to take it day by day with these multiple injuries. I even tried cryotherapy today...yes. it is cold."

The aforementioned accident occurred in dark conditions prior to play at the Old American Golf Club, Texas on Friday morning.

Cristie and her caddie, Matt Gelczis, then spent several hours at hospital in the emergency room with multiple serious injuries.

Cristie is the oldest player in the field at the USWO , and if she competes it will be her 22nd start at the event. She hasn't missed one since 1998 and she won her first major at the tournament in 2007.

Fingers crossed she is well enough to compete and she has a quick and painless recovery.
