It was a case of so close yet so far for Charley Hull this weekend at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in South Korea, but was it a promise of better things to come for the English superstar?

Hull started the final round of the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in a two-way tie for the lead with Danielle Kang but was forced to settle for second place after closing with a 1-under par 71.

The 22-year-old had managed to get herself to within two shots of the lead with three holes left to play before a shot into the ditch at the 16th effectively ended her bid for a second LPGA Tour win. After a bogey-free day on Saturday, Sunday's round was nothing to be snubbed at though, and Hall eventually finished three strokes behind the triumphant In Gee Chun.

As her first glimpse at a win for quite a while, is this a sign of the times for Hull? We certainly hope so, and her attitude in an interview afterwards proved that she's in the mindset to do it, commenting: "Oh, well. I'm pretty happy with that result. But this week was a lot of fun. I've been playing pretty well so far this season. Had a bit of a quiet spell through like the Women's British Open and stuff but I feel like my game is in really good condition right now."

This is the Charley Hull that we all love to watch, and the reason why she is so important to the world of women's golf.

Hull's first and only LPGA Tour win came at the 2016 CME Group Tour Championship, but she has recorded six top-10s this year in 21 starts - a sign, she says, that she is due a win very soon.

"I definitely have a win in my sights. I've had a third this year and now a second and quite a few top-10 places, so hopefully, yeah, that second victory on the LPGA Tour is around the corner."

Hull will now head to China for next week's Buick LPGA Shanghai and will also play in Japan before ending her 2018 season at the CME Group Tour Championship.
