As one of the world's leading amateurs, Celine Boutier's first professional win has been long awaited, but the Frenchwoman delivered in style at the ISPS Handa Vic Open.
Overnight leader, American Kim Kaufman fell off the top of the leaderboard after an errant 3-wood caused her to make a double-bogey at the par-5 5th. Boutier was all too happy to grab the opportunity with both hands; As Kaufman racked up three bogeys on the back nine, Boutier put together a steady round of level-par and claimed her first LPGA Tour win by two shots.
Kaufman finished her day with a disappointing round of 78 to tie for 8th. The American wasn't the only player to struggle on the course on Sunday though. Set up so that it was equally as difficult for the men, none of the players in the final group managed to break par. Su Oh from Australia finished the tournament with a final round of 2-over par after starting the day with back-to-back bogeys and a double bogey.
There were some exceptions to the rule though. Australian Sarah Kemp carded her best score of the tournament by far with a 6-under par 65. She shared the tie for second alongside Su Oh and Charlotte Thomas from England. Thomas had a mixed bag of scores of 68, 68 and 78, but came out fighting in the final round and closed the tournament a 69, 3-under par.
England's Jodi Ewart Shadoff finished in a tie for 8th at4-under par after another steady round of 72. Compatriot and day one leader Felicity Johnson finished in a tie for 22nd place at 1-under par.
