It seems like only yesterday that the Rose Ladies Series commenced at Brokenhurst Manor but somehow, we are already onto week seven of the ground-breaking English tour.

This Thursday (July 30), the women will be visiting The Shire London, taking on the only Seve Ballesteros-designed golf course in the UK.

Justin Rose putting his name behind the women’s game has caused a surge in support for the players, and one person who has come forward to cheer on the girls is legendary caddy Billy Foster.

Currently caddy for PGA Tour star Matthew Fitzpatrick, he has previously walked the fairways with an incredible backlog of huge names such as Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Sergio Garcia and none other than Seve Ballesteros himself.

Known for his hilarious story-telling abilities, he has reached out with some valuable advice for the players before they take on the Ballesteros Masters Course.

Speaking in a post shared by The Shire on Twitter he says:

“To all the ladies playing in the Rose Series at the Shire this week, I wish you all the best for a successful day on which is Seve’s only designed course in the UK.

Look out for the S-shaped water hazard on the last hole, a signature of Seve. As he would say to me often, “Billy we are here to win and 2nd is no good you son on my beach”...

Take that thought with you, play hard and believe in your own abilities and hopefully we will all appreciate better days that are just around the corner.

Stay positive and good luck.

Billy Foster x”

We love it!

This is the perfect example of why the bond between golfers, of any age, sex or ability, is so incredibly special.

Thanks so much again to all those involved in the Rose Series, it has done so much to help get women’s golf the recognition it deserves.
