The 23-year-old closed the 2018 Ladies European Tour season with a tournament score of 13-under par, three shots clear of the field.
Van Dam lead the field at La Quinta Golf Resort in Benahavís, Marbella, when darkness forced play to be suspended overnight on Saturday.
Finishing her third round on Sunday morning, she powered to a four-shot, carding three birdies in her last five holes, but Azahara Muñoz did her best to catch her. Muñoz temporarily closed the gap to two strokes after four birdies in six holes on the back nine, but a double bogey at the short 16th halted her challenge. She took second place at 10-under after a final round of 69.
Scotland’s Catriona Matthew finished in third place at 6-under-par, one shot ahead of Natalia Escuriola Martinez from Spain and Olivia Cowan from Germany.
Hannah Burke from England and Spain’s Luna Sobron finished one shot further back in a tie for the sixth spot. Finland’s Krista Bakker and Spain’s Marta Sanz Barrio secured their Ladies European Tour cards for 2019 with a share of eighth place.
The Women’s British Open champion Georgia Hall finished in a tie for 10th place at 2-under par alongside last year’s rookie of the year, Camille Chevalier. England’s Hall picked up her second consecutive Order of Merit title, becoming the youngest player to ever do so. Van Dam finished second on the Order of Merit.
