Amy Bouldon did the girls proud at the latest 2020protour event at Oulton Hall, Leeds.
Not only did the Ladies European Tour player get the best score of any female on the field, her one-under-par 69 finish was just four shy of winner Marcus Armitage's score.
Tying for 11th place in a field of nine women and 104 men, she was also up against former Ryder Cup winner Jamie Donaldson who tied for third.
14-year-old amateur Zara Naughton also deserves a special mention for her outstanding score of 70.
The gender-equal 2020protour was created by professional golfers Chris Hanson and Adam Walker and it sees both men and women play for the same prize money and on the same terms.
It's exactly the kind of thing we LOVE hearing about.
Speaking after the event organiser Adam Walker said:
“Everyone was impressed with Oulton Hall’s professional handling of the tournament in such difficult circumstances. To host an event of this size, while ensuring social distancing and its golf play safe hygiene measures are being met, is not an easy task and we would like to thank them all on behalf of the players and everyone involved.”
The next date on the tour is at Howley Hall on June 29 and we can't wait to see what unfolds.
