For the sixth time, Abacus Sportswear will return as The Official Apparel Supplier to Team Europe at the 2019 Solheim Cup to be staged at Gleneagles from 9-15 September 2019.

European captain and longstanding brand ambassador, Catriona Matthew has made history throughout her career wearing Abacus. Having played on nine Solheim Cup teams herself, Matthew commented at how pleased she is that the partnership between Abacus and the Solheim Cup has continued: "I love to wear Abacus clothing because it’s so comfortable, but also technical, so it’s ideal for wearing in all conditions."

"I can trust that the high-performance garments will let the team move unrestricted and make any rain, wind and other conditions insignificant so that we can all focus on our golf in the most intense situations."

Abacus Sportswear has long been a pioneer of high-performance stretch waterproof fabrics, producing innovative garments that promise to withhold whatever the course throws at you so that you can focus on what really matters: your game.

The Swedish brand has contributed to Europe’s past Solheim Cup glories, having dressed the team on five occasions, and are hoping that they'll be another success story to share at Gleneagles. Sven-Olof Karlsson, CEO and founder of Abacua Sportswear, commented: “It’s important to us to show a real contribution to the performance of the European Solheim Cup team and that our apparel exceeds the players’ expectations in terms of function, design and quality. We know from our previous positive Solheim Cup experiences that functional comfort is critical. This is why we concentrate on the details, to ensure that the players can play their best in all weather conditions.”

Chris Mattsson, head of design, added: “As we have done this prestigious project five times before, we know it will be an exciting and challenging task as each event differs, both depending on the captain, who works closely with our design team, as well as the geographical conditions. So far, we will not do any style reveals, but of course, while designing for the Scottish climate we need to be prepared for both temperature changes, wind and certainly some rain.”
