We rate all the players from Team Europe at Team USA at the 2024 Solheim Cup
The 2024 Solheim Cup has now come to an end with Team USA winning back the cup with a 15.5 to 12.5 victory. It came down to the last three matches on the course on what was a thrilling final day at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. There was a chance it would be an American whitewash but Europe fought hard to make it a compelling watch.
We thought we would take a look at each of the players from both teams and rate their performances. Here's what we thought:

Celine Boutier: B+

Some might say that this grade should be higher but we think this is fair. She took some time to warm up this week but when she did we saw the Boutier of old after she didn't seem quite on it last time in Spain. Upward trajectory and hopefully bring this into 2026.
Carlota Ciganda: B-

The Carolota Ciganda of 2023 did not materialise this week in America. Don't get me wrong, there were moments and she did gain a vital point but a lot of the times, the putts did not drop and she didn't have the dominant presence she has had before.
Linn Grant: D

Really disappointed in Grant's performance this week. In our minds she is a solid match play performer but it was really lacking this week. Maybe not being paired with her friend Stark has something to do with it. We expected so much more and she just didn't deliver.
Georgia Hall: B+

Although Hall had looked out of sorts in her first appearance this week, she got better as each match went on. It certainly seemed to be a better performance than last year and she showed just how good she can be in her 4&3 singles victory over Alison Lee.
Esther Henseleit: B+

A really solid first appearance at the Solheim Cup for Henseleit. In fact, I would have liked to have seen her play at least one more match. Gritty and gutsy, she was a natural on the Solheim Cup stage.
Charley Hull: A

Hull was no doubt the MVP for Team Europe this week, playing in all five sessions, she gave it her all this week. There may have been two loses but her dominant performance over Nelly Korda in the singles will live long in the memory and showcased why she is so good at playing under pressure.
Leona Maguire: B

A solid B for Maguire and that really is only because she only featured twice this week. We definitely feel that she was the missing link this week and should have been utilised more. Her singles victory over Ewing showed just what she is made of.
Anna Nordqvist: A-

Nordqvist is such a solid Solheim Cup performer and her match with Sagstrom on Friday was one of the best of the week. She'll be disappointed with her singles loss but it was great to see some of the flare of old back on the course this week from the Swede in what may potentially be her last Solheim Cup appearance.
Emily Kristine Pedersen: B+

Pedersen, like Hull, played in all five sessions, so she has to be given kudos for that alone. Her Captain had every faith in her and she stepped up when she was needed. However, she just seemed to run out of steam on the final day.
Madelene Sagstrom: A-

Sagstrom got off to a flier with Nordqvist in their opening match bucking the trend of losses for Team Europe. She also delivered the final point of the match, something that she was determined to do even though the Solheim Cup had already won. Loved her competitive spirit throughout.
Maja Stark: B

I guess there is just an expectation that Stark will perform better than she does. There is no doubt that there were some moments of brilliance but she wasn't able to maintain that across the week. However kudos to her for holing that putt on 18 to halve her singles match - that took guts!
Albane Valenzuela: B-

Valenzuela didn't really get the chance to show us how good she could be. With only two starts and being a rookie, it was hard to decide how to grade her. She clearly embraced every moment and we feel for her on 18 on Sunday to end up halving her match - one that she was so close to winning.

Allisen Corpuz: A

Once Corpuz got the putter working this week, she became a force to be reckoned with. She may have lost the final match of the day on Saturday but she more than made up for it with a fantastic performance on Sunday. A quiet, silent assassin of the USA team.

What a super solid rookie performance for the local hero. At no point did Coughlin look like it was her first Solheim Cup experience. She didn't dominate as much as we would have expected in her singles match, but 3.5 points is seriously impressive.

It's odd because Ewing was so fired up all week but this just did not convert to wins on the course. She wasn't able to contribute any points to the team. It was all compounded by a 4&3 loss to Maguire who was there to prove a point to her Captain on Sunday.
Megan Khang: A+

Khang, like Ciganda last year, was the stand out performer this week. She may have only played in three matches but she brought so much energy, as well as a hell of a lot of game. Her dominant singles match against Pedersen capped off a perfect week for the American.

Korda had the most phenomenal first day and played some of the best golf we have seen in recent times. However she started to faulter on Saturday morning and she just couldn't get into any rhythm in her singles match on Sunday. Still - 3 points for Team USA is very impressive 👏
Jennifer Kupcho: B-

Kupcho definitely improved her performance from last year but the gutsy display we saw in 2021 just doesn't seem to be there. She claimed a point in the singles against Grant but we just want more because we know she can deliver.

Lee will probably be most remembered for her chip in on the second hole on Saturday afternoon. She added a second on the 10th on Sunday. It was great to see her back representing USA again but wonder whether the moment got a little much for her at certain times.

Lee has just been so consistent this week, consistently delivering in all her matches. In particular fighting back for a half in her match against rookie Henseliet, her half point at a vital moment of the match.

Schmelzel deserved more from her performance this week after starting the week so strong with two victories. She fought so hard in her singles match and displayed some excellent golf. Hopefully this won't be her last Solheim Cup.

Vu elevated her grade by managing to halve her match to win the Solheim Cup, by her own admission she thought that her performance had been lacking this week. We'd say it was better than last year but we think she can give more.
Rose Zhang: A+

After only a year, Zhang has gone from a nervy rookie to a dominant performer. The American seemed unflappable all week and that showed in winning four points for Team USA. Her dominance was also show in the margin of her victories 3&2 being the smallest one. At only 21, the Americans have a star that will be shining on the Solheim Cup stage for a long time to come.
We look forward to the Solheim Cup heading to the Netherlands who are set to host their first ever Solheim Cup, as the bi-annual team matchplay tournament makes its way to Bernardus 07-13 September 2026.
