Scotland's Sally Watson and Vikki Laing missed out in the Evian qualifer in France, the women's fifth Major, to be played at the Evian Resort 11-14 September. Sally tied 5th and Vikki finished 7th.

Sally Watson (pictured) finished tied fifth and Vikki Laing seventh in the 36-hole pre-qualifier for the Evian Championship in France.

LET rookie Ariane Provot of France and amateur Jing Yan from China, winner of the British women's open amateur stroke-play championship at Prestwick last year, were the two qualifiers for the Evian Championship, one of the ladies' Major tournaments, which will be played at the same venue from 11-14 September.

Provot fired rounds of 68 and 69 to end in first spot on 137, five-under-par.
Yan tied for second with Caroline Afonso on three-under but Yan made par on the first play-off hole to clinch her place in what will be the season’s fifth major championship after Afonso bogeyed the hole.

Sally Watson had rounds of 71-72 for joint fifth place 143 while Vikki Laing, who tied for the first-round lead with a 68, slumped to a 77 for seventh place on 145.
