Over the last year, press and social media stories have reported an alleged series of problems in the relationship including that Wozniacki was 'too controlling'. Sources close to the pair claim the Irish golfer finally broke off from the Danish tennis star days after she posted an unflatterring picture on Twitter showing him fast asleep and open-mouthed with his glasses on. Wozniacki is said to be 'absolutely devastated' by the split.
This week McIlroy embarks on a lucrative tour of Asia hoping to recreate his star talent.
