Melissa Reid made it two wins in one week when she combined with England rugby’s Mike Tindall to win the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters Celebrity Shoot Out on the bank holiday weekend.

Buckinghamshire Golf Club was awash with famous faces as it hosted the star-studded event, in which Hannah Burke and DJ Spoony finished second. Charley Hull and former Chelsea FC goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini finished third ahead of Dame Laura Davies and TV personality Vernon Kay. Meanwhile Hannah Burke was named ‘Champion of Champions’ when she won the nearest the pin.

“All of my 18 years of team work and moral support came through and we pushed on to get the win,” said England rugby legend Tindall. TV favourite Kay added: “This is a great advert for the Ladies European Tour.”

The stars were warming up for the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters, which will be played for the fourth year at the Ladies European Tour’s headquarters on July 2-5.

Tindall added: “I’m going to be here in the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters Pro-Am and I think everyone should come down and watch because these girls are amazing. I’ve played with Dame Laura Davies a couple of times and the way she hits the ball is definitely worth a view.”

Spoony, whose real name is Johnathan Joseph, added: “I’ve got two girls myself and I’d absolutely love it if they played golf. The oldest has played a little bit but the youngest is only four and she won’t have a lesson, she will think she knows how to play. I’m thinking of bringing her to the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters, because daddy will be playing in the Pro-Am.”

The ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters is the showcase event for the Ladies European Tour and attracts 144 of the world’s top golfers. It’s a rare chance to see stars like Davies and Hull compete in England this summer ahead of The Solheim Cup.

Hull said: “It’s important for the Ladies European Tour, and golf in general, to have such a dedicated sponsor in ISPS HANDA. It is a lovely setting and I enjoy the course, it is always fun playing here with home crowds watching.”

Davies added: “I’m really looking forward to the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters because it’s a great course, usually good weather and hopefully we’ll get some big galleries, because that’s what makes the atmosphere for us. It should be a good week. Come along and be inspired by the power of sport.”
