Alford's long-hitting Laura Murray (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) is having her best year since she joined the pro ranks, following victory in the Scottish women's amateur championship and two wins in the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews.

Laura (pictured) leads the Paul Lawrie Ladies Tartan Tour Order of Merit this year by a clear margin with a total of 4,725pt. Second-placed Trish Johnson has 2,500pt.

The leader of the Order of Merit after the Tour championship at Marriott Dalmahoy in September will win free flights and hotel accommodation at the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School in Morocco in December.

And in the tour money table, Murray, an outright winner at Murcar Links and a joint first with Heather MacRae at this week's 36-hole event at Dundonald Links, is also in the No 1 position with £2,475 to her credit.

Another former Scottish amateur champion, Heather Stirling (unattached) is lying second with £1,775.
