Kedleston Park has announced the winners of two new exciting Women’s Open Scratch competitions - Kim Bradbury won The Kedleston Rose Bowl and Sue Spencer The Kedleston Senior Salver.

Kedleston Park is pleased to announce the winners of two exciting new Women’s Open Scratch competitions, The Kedleston Rose Bowl and The Kedleston Senior Salver.

The inaugural Kedleston Rose Bowl, the women’s equivalent of The Kedleston Goose, contested by amateurs over 36 holes on the Par 72 mature parkland championship course at Kedleston Park on Sunday 24 August was won by Kim Bradbury from Buxton & High Peak Golf Club with a gross score of 146 followed by Esme Hamilton from Notts Ladies Golf Club.

While the Senior Salver, for amateurs that have reached the age of 50 by the date of competition, contested over 18 holes of the stunning Derbyshire course the same day, was won by Sue Spencer from Whittington Heath Golf Club with a gross score of 79.

Ian Neal, Chairman of Kedleston Park Golf Club, said: “We’re delighted to have launched two Women’s Open Scratch events as we look to promote ladies golf in Derbyshire. We hope the Kedleston Rose Bowl will share similar success to the well-established Kedleston Goose, the men’s equivalent, whose previous winners include the likes of Lee Westwood, David Lynn and Mark Foster.”

Melissa Reid, the Derbyshire-based Ladies European Tour Star, is a keen supporter of the events, commenting: “It's always nice to see new events popping up for girls/ women golf; The more opportunities the better. If it wasn't for these kind of events growing up, then I would have struggled to get the passion I did. It's great for these events to be on good golf courses too, like Kedleston, which is one of my favourites in Derbyshire and I played a lot growing up.”
